Two police officers have been bitten by a dog during a drugs raid in the South Hams.

It happened on Saturday evening as they executed a warrant at a property in Bridgetown in Totnes.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the male and female officers suffered minor injuries.

A woman in her 20s is due to voluntarily attend a police interview on Wednesday.

A force spokeswoman said: “Police conducted a drugs warrant at a property in Higher Westonfields, Bridgetown, on Saturday, November 16.

“On entry to the property two officers were injured by a dog from the address.

“A female PC sustained a bite to her arm and a male PC was bitten on the knee.

“Both attended Torbay District Hospital. A quantity of suspected cannabis was seized by police.

“A woman in her 20s is due to voluntarily attend a police interview on Wednesday, November 20.”

Totnes Police shared a picture of the female officer’s injury, writing: “War wounds from the latest drugs warrant conducted over the weekend in Bridgetown.

“Two officers were injured as a result of a dog bite upon entry.

“Both treated at Torbay A&E and back out on patrol shortly after.”
