AFFICIONADOS of choral music will be treated to ‘A German Christmas’ by popular local group the Brent Singers in December.

The name of this year’s winter concert refers to a programme of moving work that includes music by J S Bach and Michael Praetorius alongside traditional carols.

The concert takes place on Saturday, December 12 in St. Petroc`s Church, South Brent at 7.30pm, and the choir will be accompanied by the South Brent Recorder Group.

The Singers are directed by Philip Arkwright, the well known organist who is also director of music at Buckfast Abbey. Soloists will be sopranos Louise Hardy and Sally Reeve, with Ian Curron as organist.
