FURTHER investment is promised by Fusion Lifestyle, which has recently taken over the management of six leisure centres across Devon.
The UK’s leading independent sport and leisure charity has announced it will begin an extensive, three-year programme of improvements and investments, which will significantly enhance local sports and leisure facilities across the county.
New to Devon, Fusion Lifestyle officially commenced operations at sites in December.
It manages and operates Dartmouth Leisure Centre; Ivybridge Leisure Centre; Quayside Leisure Centre, Kingsbridge; Parklands Leisure Centre, Okehampton; Meadowlands Leisure Centre, Tavistock; and Totnes Pavilion Leisure Centre.
An innovative collaboration also sees the new Dartmouth Indoor Pool managed by Fusion Lifestyle, on behalf of the Dartmouth and District Indoor Pool Trust.
A company spokesman said with millions of pounds of investment to be carried out, the sports and leisure centres will see extensive modernisation, including a number of major build projects, with the first project commencing at the Parklands Leisure Centre in Okehampton site within the coming weeks.
Fusion Lifestyle is the largest independent charity operating community sports, fitness and leisure centres in the country, and is known for bringing quality and investment to the facilities it operates. And, because it is a charity, all of its incoming resources are reinvested in improving and developing its services and facilities.
Peter Kay, Fusion Lifestyle’s chief executive officer said: ‘We operate 93 diverse sports and leisure facilities across the UK and it is a privilege to be involved in the running of these incredibly popular and important sites in Devon.
‘We have made a commitment to nurture these sports and leisure facilities and make a serious investment in their improvement and upkeep. Whether that’s a major new addition to the site, or refurbishing much-loved facilities, it will be our role to ensure they serve the community for many more years to come.
‘As an independent charity, we invest heavily in creating, restoring and transforming local facilities. We believe the communities in Devon will really benefit from what we are bringing to the area.’
