The South Hams is preparing for the spooky season with lots of activities for all ages to get involved in. 

In Ivybridge, the Halloween Town Trail started on October 18, which sees participants go to various locations and see how many bats they can find. The deadline for the trail is Halloween, October 31, and participants can pop in to any local shop to get their forms.

Aune Valley are hosting pumpkin carving on October 27 from 9am until 4pm, followed by a Halloween Movie Night, with a screening of Hocus Pocus from 6pm. Tickets, which can be found on their website, include a hot chocolate. Refreshments, chips, and sausage rolls will be available from 4.30pm until 5.45pm in the café.

Malborough Pre School have organised a Halloween Trail around Malborough Village.  Maps, which are £3, have been available since October 20th. The trail will close on the 29th. 

The Sportsmans Arms in Dartmouth are hosting ‘The Sportsmans Spooky Soirée’ on Saturday October 28th, which will include games, party food, face painting and party bags. It is open for all ages from 4pm, and tickets are £6 per child. Tickets are available to purchase from the bar, and pre booking is required. 

For adults looking to celebrate Halloween, The Pig’s Nose in Prawle is hosting a ticketed immersive Halloween party on October 28 with DJs and a fancy dress competition. 

A spokesperson for the event said: “Step beyond the threshold of the eerie ‘Pigs in the Woods,’ where every corner conceals secrets, and every shadow hides unimaginable horrors. As you navigate through this twisted labyrinth of terror, you’ll encounter interactive rooms filled with a variety of classic horror characters lurking in the darkness.”

Live and Let Live pub in Totnes are hosting a Halloween leaving party on  Friday 27th. The pub’s last day of trading is Sunday, October 29, so this is a chance to celebrate for a final time. They have a resident DJ from Timepiece Exeter performing for the evening. 

The Seale Arms in Dartmouth have drag superstar Paris Grande performing from 8pm on Saturday 28th. Tickets are £5 per person and include a free glass of bubbly on entry.
