A burst water main has caused a road to collapse, Police have said.
Devon and Cornwall Police have urged people to stay away from the A381 between Sorley Green Cross and Stumpy Post Cross just outside Kingsbridge due to the damage caused.
Kingsbridge Police posted on social media, writing: "Sorley Cross to Stumpy Post is closed due to a collapsed road.
"Belle Hill is also closed with roadworks.
"It’s very busy. Please avoid. Going to the tip can wait until tomorrow. Water main has burst and road collapsed. Very congested. Avoid area."A South West Water spokesperson said: “We are working to repair a burst water main on the A381 in Kingsbridge.“Nine properties are without water and are being offered bottled water while we complete the repair.“We will repair the burst and reinstate the road so it can be opened as soon as possible.”
