SWPL premier division

Witheridge 4,

Ivybridge Town will be looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat away in north Devon when they take on eighth-placed Saltash tomorrow writes Tim Leigh.

The Bridgers remain in fourth place in the premier division for the moment, but will be keen not to drop too far behind the front-runners with two-thirds of the season still to play.

Town did, though, enjoy a far more satisfactory result last weekend when they welcomed division one west side Millbrook to Erme Valley in the Walter C Parsons Cup.

With Millbrook enduring a torrid time in the league, having picked up just one win so far this season, it was always likely that this game could prove a step too far for the visitors.

In the event this proved to be the case, with a ruthless home side smashing eight goals past their outclassed visitors in a clinical display.

This comfortable victory books them into the last 16 of the competition, where they will take on St Blazey, with the tie due to be played on Tuesday, November 24, kick-off 7.30pm.

This Tuesday night sees Ivybridge tackle their third game in a week when they play Cullompton Rangers at Erme Valley, kick off 7.30pm.

Town narrowly beat the Rangers 2-3 at Cullompton on October 10 and will be keen not to let the visitors gain their revenge in the return fixture.
