Thorverton 68 all out,
Ivybridge 100 all out;
Thorverton (five points) lost to Ivybridge (16)
by 32 runs
Ivybridge's 1st XI recorded their first victory of the season thanks to a superb bowling effort against Thorverton to move up to sixth in the league table.
Ivybridge batted first and posted what looked like a below-par total, being bowled out for exactly 100 runs after captain Jeewan de Silva top scored with 35.
What followed next, however, was a remarkable bowling display as James Bullock and De Silva ripped through the Thorverton batting line-up to claim nine wickets between them and bowl the home side out for 68.
Bullock took superb figures of 5-19 and De Silva claimed 4-11 to gain Ivy 15 valuable points.
Meanwhile, the second XI made short work of a Kingsbridge side who were a player short.
Chris Greenhouse was the star for Ivybridge with both bat and ball, taking 4-23 as Kingsbridge batted first to restrict them to 184 all out.
He then hit 75 to help Ivybridge chase down the total for the loss of just three wickets to claim the maximum 20 points. He was well supported in the batting by David Eadie's unbeaten 46 and Mike Tuckwell's 35.
Tomorrow sees the first team take on South Devon at home as the seconds travel to take on the same opponents.
